Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 1300 Block of 4th Street, Southwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Thursday, March 5, 2020, in the 1300 block of 4th Street, Southwest.

At approximately 8:09 pm, the suspect and victims were engaged in a verbal altercation at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victims. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. No injuries were reported.

On Thursday, March 5, 2020, 39 year-old Bniam Yeshigeta, of Alexandria, VA, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
