Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 1900 Block of Benning Road, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Saturday, May 25, 2019, in the 1900 block of Benning Road, Northeast.
                                                                                                                
At approximately 3:57 am, the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal dispute inside of a vehicle at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 24-year-old Jamani Ammal Toney, of Germantown, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
