Arrests Made in Multiple Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

Second District:

On Friday, December 13, 2019, 39 year-old Maurice Smith, of no fixed address, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Thursday, December 12, 2019, in the 5400 block of Macarthur Boulevard, Northwest. CCN: 19-221-281

At approximately 12:11 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property and then fled the scene.

Fourth District:

On Friday, December 20, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 18 year-old Daniel Burns, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, July 8, 2019, in the 3700 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 19-119-686

At approximately 9:25 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded property. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.

On Wednesday, December 25, 2019, 35 year-old Dominick Paris, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery offense that occurred on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, in the 3600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 19-229-011

At approximately 4:02 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect took property from the victim then fled the scene.

On Thursday, December 26, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 32 year-old Joshua Austin, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, in the 5900 block of 13th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-194-428

At approximately 12:47 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene.

Fifth District:

On Tuesday, December 24, 2019, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery while Armed offense that occurred on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, in the 1900 block of Newton Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-228-885

At approximately 11:30 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene.

On Friday, December 27, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 20 year-old Damond Brown, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 2, 2017, in the 300 block of Franklin Street, Northeast. CCN: 17-208-031

At approximately 1:46 pm, the victim met up with the suspect at the listed location to sell property to the suspect. The suspect brandished a gun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.
