Arrests Made in Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

First District:

• On Monday, November 9, 2020, a 13 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC and a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, were arrested for the following offenses:
  • Assault with Intent to Rob while Armed (Gun): On Monday, November 9, 2020, at approximately 7:50 pm, in the 400 block of 11^th Street, Northeast, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property. The second suspect then assaulted the victim. When the victim called for help, the suspects fled the scene without obtaining property. CCN: 20-160-645
  • Robbery (Force and Violence): On Monday, November 9, 2020, at approximately 7:54 pm, in the 200 block of 10^th Street, Northeast, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location and demanded property. One of the suspects assaulted the victim. The suspects took the victim’s property then fled the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers. CCN: 20-160-634

Third District:

• On Saturday, November 7, 2020, 35 year-old Jeremiah Stanback, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Rob offense that occurred on Friday, November 6, 2020, in the 1200 block of U Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-159-190
  • At approximately 11:45 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect attempted to snatch the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene and was apprehended by responding officers. No property was obtained.

Fifth District:

• On Saturday, November 7, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19 year-old Jovahn Cox, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, in the 1800 block of Central Place, Northeast. CCN: 20-139-793
  • At approximately 3:39 pm, the suspects approached the victims at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victims complied and the suspects fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

Sixth District:

• On Thursday, November 5, 2020, 44 year-old Derwood Dawkins, of no fixed address, was arrested by the District of Columbia Housing Authority Police Department for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Thursday, November 5, 2020, in the 400 block of 50^th Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-158-651
  • At approximately 11:10 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and demanded the victim’s property. The victim was then able to flee the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

• On Friday, November 6, 2020, 27 year-old Bengi Knox, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, November 6, 2020, in the 6200 block of Banks Place, Northeast. CCN: 20-159-059
  • At approximately 6:00 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took the victim’s property then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

• On Friday, November 13, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for the following Robbery offenses that occurred in the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast.
  • Robbery (Snatch): On Sunday, October 11, 2020, at approximately 2:15 pm, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene. CCN: 20-145-546
  • Robbery (Force and Violence): On Sunday, October 25, 2020, at approximately 6:50 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-153-008

Seventh District:

• On Friday, November 6, 2020, 41 year-old Ronald Fisher, of Southwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, November 6, 2020, in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-158-694
  • At approximately 12:44 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and stole the victim’s property then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
