Arrests Made in Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

Second District:

  • On Thursday, July 9, 2020, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Unarmed Carjacking offense that occurred on Thursday, July 9, 2020, in the 2600 block of Military Road, Northwest. CCN: 20-099-272
    • At approximately 7:54 pm, the suspect approached the victim, who was in her vehicle, at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took her vehicle. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

Third District:

  • On Monday, July 6, 2020, 56 year-old Andre Gibson, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery of an Establishment offense that occurred on Monday, July 6, 2020, in the 1400 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-097-840
    • At approximately 5:30 pm, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect stole a cash register from the store and fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
  • On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, and a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, were arrested for the following offenses:
    • Armed Robbery (Knife): On Saturday, July 4, 2020, in the 1800 block of 14th Street, Northwest, at approximately 4:25 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished a knife and assaulted the victim. The suspects also took property from the victim. The suspects then fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-096-707
    • Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery: On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, in the 1600 block of Kalorama Road, Northwest, at approximately 3:10 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to take property. The victim was able to flee the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers. CCN: 20-098-044
    • Attempt to Commit Robbery: On Saturday, July 4, 2020, in the 1300 block of 9th Street, Northwest, at approximately 9:30 am, the suspects approached the victim, who was in a vehicle, at the listed location. The suspects demanded property from the victim. One suspect stated that he was in possession of a knife. The victim was able to flee the scene in his vehicle. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-096-715
    • Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery: On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, in the 800 block of N Street, Northwest, at approximately 3:55 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to take property. The suspects fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries but refused to transportation to the hospital. CCN: 20-098-049
    • Robbery: On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, in the 1800 block of Columbia Road, Northwest, at approximately 7:52 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects took the victim’s property and fled the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers. CCN: 20-098-091
    • Robbery: On Saturday, July 4, 2020, in the 1400 block of Monroe Street, Northwest, at approximately 3:40 am, the suspects approached the victim and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects then assaulted the victim and fled with the property. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-096-697

Fourth District:

  • On Friday, July 3, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile of Northeast, DC, and 18 year-old Kevin Smith of Northeast, DC, were placed under arrest for an Unarmed Carjacking offense that occurred on Friday, July 3, 2020, in the 100 block of Michigan Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 20-096-260
    • At approximately 2:33 am, the suspects approached the victims at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victims and attempted to take their property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

  • On Friday, July 10, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19 year-old Nayeliz Valle, of Hyattsville, MD, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in the 5900 block of 3rd Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-216-022
  • At approximately 7:30 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished a knife and demanded property from the victim. The suspects then fled with the victim’s property. This case remains under investigation.

Fifth District:

  • On Thursday, July 9, 2020, 25 year-old Daquan D’albert Kelly, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Attempt to Commit Robbery (Fear) of an Establishment offense that occurred on Thursday, July 9, 2020, in the 900 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast. CCN: 20-098-957
    • At approximately 1:38 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect went towards the cash register and approached the store employee. The suspect demanded money and implied that he was in possession of a handgun. The suspect then fled the scene and was apprehended by responding officers.

Seventh District:

  • On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, 47 year-old Johnny Head, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Thursday, June 24, 2020, in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-092-530
    • At approximately 4:33 pm, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene but was apprehended by responding officers.
