Agents from the Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Internal Affairs Bureau are investigating an off-duty MPD sergeant involved shooting incident that occurred on Friday, July 10, 2020, in the 12000 block of Starboard Drive in Reston, Virginia.
The sergeant has over 19 years of service with the Metropolitan Police Department and has been placed on administrative leave, pursuant to MPD policy. Fairfax County Police Department is investigating the incident and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the circumstances.
