Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 3400 Block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, in the 3400 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 1:59 am, the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal dispute at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

On Tuesday, August, 20, 2019, 21 year-old Melvin Cruz-Sorto, of Mount Rainer, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
