Arrests Made in Multiple Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

First District:

On Monday, December 16, 2019, two 14 year-old juvenile males and a 15 year-old juvenile male, all of Northeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, December 15, 2019, in the 200 block of H Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-223-463

At approximately 10:18 pm, three suspects approached the victim at the listed location.  The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property.  The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.

Third District:

On Saturday, December 14, 2019, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2019, in the 3100 block of Sherman Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 19-222-707

At approximately 2:32 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location.  The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property.  One of the suspects was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.

Fourth District:

On Friday, December 13, 2019, a 16 year-old juvenile male, and a 15 year-old juvenile male, both of Northwest, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Thursday, December 5, 2019, in the 5900 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN 19-216-920

At approximately 2:30 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took his property then fled the scene.

On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense which occurred on Thursday, November 28, 2019, in the 5100 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN 19-214-290

At approximately 5:55am, the suspects approached the victims at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded US currency. The victim complied and the suspect then took property from a second victim. The suspect then fled in a vehicle driven by the second suspect. This case remains under investigation.

Sixth District: 

On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, 19 year-old Cortez Smith, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense which occurred on Thursday, December 12, 2019, in the 400 block of 51st Street, Northeast. CCN 19-221-700

At approximately 10:30 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property. The victim complied and the suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

On Thursday, December 19, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense which occurred on Friday, September 27, 2019, in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast. CCN 19-172-671

At approximately 8:04 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects grabbed the victim and the remaining suspects took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
