Arrests Made in Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

First District:

• On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, a 14 year-old Juvenile Male, of Northeast, DC, and a 16 year-old Juvenile Male, of Northeast, DC, were arrested for an Unarmed Carjacking offense that occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, in the 300 block of 12^th Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-143-043
  • At approximately 5:23 pm, the suspects approached the victim, who was unloading her vehicle, at the listed location. The suspects demanded the victim’s car keys. The victim complied. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.

• On Thursday, October 1, 2020, 37 year-old Derrick Singletary, of No Fixed Address was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Thursday, October 1, 2020, in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-140-506
  • At approximately 11:37 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took property then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

Fourth District:

• On Friday, October 2, 2020, 19 year-old Najeem Khalil Sule, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, October 2, 2020, in the 5700 block of 13^th Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-140-911
  • At approximately 7:37 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and took the victim’s phone then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

• On Thursday, October 8, 2020, 27 year-old David Penn, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force & Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 20-143-407
  • At approximately 1:24 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took his property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

Sixth District:

• On Monday, October 5, 2020, 52 year-old Stanley Lee Petty, Jr., of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, in the 4500 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast. CCN: 20-132-113
  • At approximately 4:38 pm, the suspects approached the victims at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and took the victims’ property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
