Arrest Made in Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense: 1700 Block of 16th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in the 1700 block of 16th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 7:58 pm, members of the Sixth District responded the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, 26-year-old Andrew Jamal Shuff, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Carrying a Pistol Outside Home/Business, Possession Of Unregistered Firearm, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Felon In Possession and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.
